Standards

With anything in life, its important to have standards. Hopefully the Ts & Cs of the DYT platform give this clarity, but to make it crystal clear, here is what DYT expect of users (contractors and businesses) on the platform.

Contractor

Business

Don’t be a jerk
Provide all necessary information to either party to ensure the job can be completed successfully
Provide honest reviews
Be open and honest with your experience and knowledge – do not sign up for a job that you cannot complete to the highest standard
Be organised e.g. ensure the set of keys work, and that any specific tech the contractor needs for the job is supplied by you or clearly defined if they need to provide their own
Like with any job, be reliable and punctual
Provide clear directions to your contractor

FAQ's

Contractor

How do I price my work?

As DYT is an open marketplace, you can choose the price point for your work. Different jobs may require extra travel time or follow up work, so factor this into whatever price you set. If you are available for long periods of time e.g. a day of routine inspections or photos, you may consider simplifying your pricing with an hourly rate rather than a per property charge.

How can I get more work?

Keeping your profile current and providing plenty of information is a great starting point. Ensure you list the platforms or technology you are experienced in using and also what states you hold registration in (if relevant). Reviews are also an essential element to help you get more work – do a great job, and the business should leave a great review for you. With more positive reviews should come more job offers.

If I’m attending a property, where do I get keys or reports from?

These operational details should be communicated to you by the business when you accept a job from them. If you are unsure, please reach out to them via the chat function to get all necessary details before the job is due.

If I’m meeting a client (tenant, owner, buyer, seller etc) for any reason, where do I say I work?

Again, this is a conversation for you to have with the business. They may want you to make it clear you are a freelancer, or they may prefer you let them know you are a member of their team.

When do I get paid?

The business has 24 hours to mark a job as completed after the due time. Payment is automatically released at this time, less DYT platform fees. If there is ever a dispute regarding payment, please contact the DYT team.

What do I do if the business approaches me directly to work for them, either as a freelancer or employee?

This is a big no in the terms and conditions of using the DYT marketplace. The marketplace relies on contractors remaining active and receiving reviews from businesses engaging with them. If you take your work offline and to the business directly, and you will reduce your likelihood of getting further work on the platform as your reviews stop. We need all parties engaged for the tribe to thrive.

If you are offered a job from a business you have met through DYT, as outlined in the terms and conditions, we will request a referral payment from the business.

I had a terrible experience doing a job for a business and I don’t want to work with them again, what do I do?

Simply don’t accept their job offers in future. If you are concerned about a business remaining on the platform, please reach out to the DYT team.

Where should I do my CPD?

Please email the DYT team and we can point you in the right direction depending what state you are in.

If I haven’t used a particular platform or program before, where should I go to get upskilled?

This really depends on what upskilling you require, but we are happy to help if we can. Reach out to the DYT team if you've got any questions. We're here to help.   help@designyourteam.io

I am already employed with an agency, am I allowed to join the platform?

We have no issue with you joining the platform however we respectfully request that you get consent from your employer to do so first. DYT is intended to provide support to the industry, both individuals and businesses, and not at the expense of businesses.

Businesses

I need a job completed that is not listed on DYT, what do I do?

Let us know and we will see if we have a freelancer available for the job. If its an ongoing or repeat job, we will look to find more suppliers in this category.

When do I pay the contractor?

You have 24 hours to mark a job as completed after the due time. Payment is automatically released at this time, less DYT platform fees. If there is ever a dispute regarding payment or quality of service by the contractor, please contact the DYT team.

Can I approach a contractor to work directly for me, either as a freelancer or employee?

This is a big no in the terms and conditions of using the DYT marketplace. The marketplace relies on contractors remaining active and receiving reviews from businesses engaging with them. We need all parties engaged for the tribe to thrive.

If you offer a job to a contractor you have met through DYT, as outlined in the terms and conditions, we will request a referral payment from you.

I had a terrible experience with a contractor, what do I do?

Please leave a constructive review and reach out to the DYT team with more information.
